We are 6 undergraduate students who all study in Environmental Science and Resource Management major from University of Washington, and assigned to the same project in one class. What a fortunate encounter!

So our project which will last one year is to control the invasive vegetation and re-establish native vegetation at the north side of Yesler Swamp. This site runs along the front of the center for Urban Horticulture, Seattle, Washington. Much of it is on a 3:1 slope which increases the difficulty of our restoration work. At the first level, which means now, what we need to do is to do the site assessment including the soil and polygons assessment, human context, vegetation and repair prediction, and hen put the data we measured into the thorough proposal draws the whole picture of what and how we would restore on this swamp site. We are all hard working and excited about the result in the future.

The purpose we set up the blog for our restoration project is not only to show our process and work to the public, but also to spirit more people to devote themselves to helping the environment. It is never too little you can do to change the world!!
